Our Guarantee

Every order is important to us because we know how important it is to you. Hence, we earnestly endeavor to please every customer with beautiful flowers and accommodating service. Knowing that flowers are a perishable natural product and that floral arrangements and floral gifts are hand made, we make every effort to fortify our floral products and ensure the quality, accuracy and beauty of our work. Many variables determine whether a flower will last as long as anticipated or whether a designer has created something which you will enjoy.  Because we constantly seek ways to bring some of these variables under our control for improved floral performance, we welcome your comments and inquiries.

Sympathy Store Delivery policy

US orders must be received before 4:00 pm in the recipient’s time zone to assure same-day delivery. We will do every effort to get your order out same day however orders received after that time will be delivered the following day or a special delivery charge may apply. We would always contact you, giving you the choice.

Regular local deliveries leave at 12 pm each day. If an order is placed after 12 pm we will make every effort to deliver same day but an additional delivery charge may apply. Again, we will contact you giving you the choice of same or next day delivery.

We always do and will continue to do our best to accommodate deliveries at specific times of day, but we cannot guarantee any specific timed deliveries.

We deliver Monday to Sunday, however there is an additional $10.00 for express or Sunday deliveries. Every attempt will be made to contacted you in the event we cannot confirm with you we will always deliver your package Sunday and charge your card the express delivery fee.

Delivery of orders to rural route addresses or cemeteries cannot be guaranteed. There is a Placement fee required in addition to delivery charges for some cemeteries. Please contact us regarding the fee as it varies per cemetery.

We will be happy to accept your international orders if you call our shop directly. However we are unable to accept international orders online. A special relay charge applies.

Sympathy Store Holiday Hours

Our shop will always be closed on the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Easter Day, Father’s Day, Memorial Day and Independence Day and Labor Day.

If no one is home
Depending on the delivery location, if the recipient is not available at the time of delivery, the delivery person may leave the gift in a safe place for the recipient to retrieve when they return, such as with a neighbor, or leave a message for the recipient to call to arrange for delivery.

Incorrect Addresses
If the recipient’s address is incorrect and delivery was attempted to the address, there is a $10 address correction fee. Sympathy Store is not responsible for deliveries made to incorrect addresses submitted to us by the customer. If such a delivery is made, the customer assumes responsibility for the entire purchase.

Funeral Homes
These orders are our very highest priority. If you have ordered too late to make the funeral service we will call to let you know quickly so that you can make other arrangements or have something sent to the home of the family. If you do not know the zip code or exact address of the funeral home we will look it up for you. We normally contact the funeral home to verify the time of the viewing and make arrangements for the flower delivery.  If you have selected a delivery date that is before the actual viewing we will deliver to the viewing per the funeral home instructions.  Depending on time of service we may elect to deliver a day early to a church or funeral home. If you have ordered for a funeral viewing on Sunday and it is too late to deliver on Saturday or Sunday, we will contact the funeral home to verify that there is a viewing or service on Monday and reschedule the order.

High Schools
High schools do not accept deliveries for students. Please send teacher’s gifts to the high school and any student orders to their residence. Orders to high schools should be placed early because they usually must be received by 2pm.

Weekend Delivery Policy
Sunday Delivery does not include the entire Metro area. Distant suburbs will be a extra charge. Sunday deliverys are made by cabs or couriour therefore we must verify that someone will be home to accept deliverys. Apartment building and Hospital deilverys are not always possible. If we are unable to arrange for delivery on Sunday and time permits we will setup for delivery on Saturday, including Birthday and Anniversaries. If Saturday or Sunday is not available, then the order will be scheduled for Monday and we will inform you of the rescheduling (you will be contacted first before rescheduling a Birthday or Anniversary gift for Monday).

PO Boxes
We are unable to deliver flowers to a P.O. Box or an A.P.O. addresses.

In some cases, the florist may contact the recipient to ensure s/he will be home to accept the delivery.

Request to leave item at door
The customer assumes all liability for requests to leave arrangements. We highly discourage special instructions requesting delivery to a doorstep, porch, yard or any location where the recipient cannot accept the arrangement themselves. Soderberg’s Floral & Gifts cannot be held responsible for missing or faulty product due to this special request.

Recipient refusal of delivery
If the recipient refuses to accept a delivery, you may be held fully liable for the cost of the gift.

Anyomous Deliveries
For years we have tried to determine the best way to deal with requests to send flowers anonymously (no signature on greeting card). Many florists refuse to send deliveries anonymously. But in an effort to satisfy our customer’s wishes we have continued to allow this practice. Almost always the recipient calls us to find out who sent them. Due to issues with stalkers and over zealous suitors people take this anonymous gesture very seriously. In the spirit of expressing emotions with flowers, we do our best to make this a positive situation instead of some thing that could weigh on the recipient’s mind or even torment them. So we will divulge the senders name, address and phone to ease the recipient’s mind. By ordering from us you agree to this policy.

Card Messages
The message that you write in the Card Message field is the message that is sent with the gift. We do not include any billing information with your order.
 

Taxes & Pricing 

There are Minnesota State and Local sales taxes on every order since we are a located in  Minneapolis, Minnesota.. Many products are available in Standard, Deluxe, and Premium sizes that you can upgrade to.

 Substitution Policy

Fresh Flowers

At Sympathy Store we are committed to delivering your important emotional sentiments on time and as fresh and beautiful as possible. Because of the nature, seasonality, and regional availability of flowers it is sometimes necessary to make substitutions of equal or greater value. We will make every effort to maintain the “look and feel” of the arrangement by considering the overall shape, size, style, and color combinations. In single-variety arrangements the variety will take precedence over color. For instance, if an order is for yellow daisies, they will substitute another color of daisies, not another yellow flower. White roses and cream roses may be substituted for each other as well as peach roses and pink roses. Purple and pink orchids may need to be substituted for white orchids and visa versa.

Balloons
All hospitals and public buildings do not allow latex balloons with an arrangement. Mylar balloons may need to be substituted for latex balloons on some orders.

Plants
For green and blooming plants, similar plants may be substituted of equal or greater value. For one-of-a-kind plants, such as orchids, we will make every attempt to match the plant type, but may substitute with another color. Containers for plants may be substituted from the photo and we will select on that is as close as possible.

Gift Baskets
Substitutions within a basket may be made with items of greater or equal value if necessary to guarantee freshness and timely delivery.

Substitutions for Special Occasions
Due to the importance of delivering orders for special occasions, such as funerals, birthdays, and anniversaries, on specific days, we may make a substitution of equal or greater value to ensure timely delivery.  If the flowers you requested are not available, will make every effort to contact you via the phone number(s) or email address you provided us.
